Dominican Institute for the Arts
Searching for Truth and Beauty. Preaching through the Transforming Power of the Arts

Last year we had special pages on our website to which we invited DIA member, all Dominicans, Associates, Laity, Dominican Youth and Young adults as well as friends in ministry to submit their art, poetry, photos videos and reflections on the justice and peace issues shared at the Dominican Sisters Conference in 2015. This year we would like to hone our focus.

“During the course of the 2016 LCWR assembly in Atlanta, Embracing the Mystery: Living Transformation, we, the members of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, affirmed a resolution committing ourselves to examine the root causes of injustice, particularly racism, and our own complicity as congregations, and to work to effect systemic change .”

We know that racism raises its ugly head in our lives in many ways. The Dominican Institute for the Arts seeks to help the Order and LCWR further our work of rooting out Racism. We invite all Dominican Youth, Young Adults and all the Dominican Family to submit your personal artwork, videos, poetry, to join with us in one voice for this on our website and beyond. We also invite you to submit the works of those with whom you minister.

Work must be original and if a YouTube or Vimeo it must abide by copyright laws. We reserve the right to choose what appears on our website.
