Searching for Truth and Beauty. Preaching through the Transforming Power of the Arts
Searching for Truth and Beauty. Preaching through the Transforming Power of the Arts
Poetry as a Soulful Conversation - July 27, 2017 DIA, Adrian, MI

Visiting as guests at a ranch in the mountains near Westcliffe, Colorado
A glass of wine offered to settle the dust in my throat from traveling the dirt roads
A town of the newly built geodesic dome greenhouse
Peace and tranquility were felt being surrounded by luxuriant

A glass of wine offered to settle the dust in my throat from traveling the dirt roads
Gifts of art and music were exchanged including a multi-colored woven rosary
Peace and tranquility were felt being surrounded by luxuriant foliage
The hospitality was healing and rejuvenating

The unknown, uncharted and unsure
Rest in the One who is love
Ushered into serenity amid the clamor
Seeking the path lovely carved
That leads to fullness of being, image of God.                                                 - Jennifer Jenkins

In the beginning
Was the Word, not just the Bang.
It makes a difference.                                                                                        - Elizabeth Michael Boyle

And when you wait
Wait with open arms
Stilled heart
Empty mind
Wait with, in, and through love.                                                                          - Vicki Perfect

Salt spiral of earth
Submerging reemerging
Land form of space, time                                                                                    - Natalie C. Smith

Basil- green and growing
    Fresh flavor- green- earthy
Chocolate- green growth transformed
Luscious flavor savored on the tongue                                                            - Janice Holkup

Six empty places
Each with a different offering
Invitation
Who will come
Which will be chosen, first, second, why and by whom
Sensory appeal
Symbolic appeal

Qullted patches
Under and over
Insight into theme
Locked together
Tender patches
Etching in cloth
Diving in and out of patterns
Crucifix
The Rood
Oft repeated
Sacrifice
Simple                                                                                                                - Pat DeMay

I could crawl on my hands and knees in the middle of a desert
To reach
A rich milky sweet ...                                                                                         - Elizabeth Rodkervich
