Pauline Blandina was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. In 2015 Blandina moved to live her retirement at the Dominican Motherhouse in Sparkill, New York. Beginning in high school art classes and continuing as a self-taught watercolorist, Blandina discovered she had a gift for portraiture from drawing her mother in a nursing home 24 times in 14 months. Then she took classes at a community college to improve her portraits in water-soluble oil, pencil, acrylic, and even watercolor! Blandina kept a website for 24 years of her ART MINISTRY, a small business from the convent ground floor where she was living in community. Art is a ministry for me because people need beauty to be touched by the transcendent. Blandina is posting her retirement work on Face Book..
